Hi i bought a pre build pc (yes i know, not that smart) (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9166783 this one to be exact) and i then bought a new EVGA PSU and a new GTX 960, now, the computer doesn't post at all. When i turn on the computer, i only get a black screen. When i remove the GPU the computer works just fine. Can anyone tell me if I have any compatibility issues in the build and if not, any suggestions on how to make this system work.

Solution
Try entering the BIOS and seeing what it is set to default to. it might have swapped over to on-board graphics, in which case you need to change it back to dedicated/PCIE. compatibility wise that makes no sense so it is wither a DOA card or defaulting issues.
As you have an APU it make sense that it is not default supporting the card.

"^ yes same thing occurred all the time on my old dell optiplex 745. remove the GPU and enter the bios with the TV connected to the motherboard."

And then navigate the bios and check that the output is on the PCIE?
