Computer fans, mobo, and GPU turn on, but no signal to monitor, keyboard, or mouse

Today I underwent the process of upgrading from a hard drive to an SSD. I cloned my HDD to an external hard drive with the expectation that I would clone from the external to the new SSD. I opened my computer, swapped out the hard drive and put in the SSD, and turned on the computer. The fans, motherboard lights (CPU indicator lights, reset, and power lights), and GPU fans and light turned on. However, my monitor received no signal and wouldn't turn on and my mouse and keyboard lights never turned on either. This was very strange because my computer was running flawlessly an hour before I installed the SSD and there is no way that I fried a part because I never touched any parts inside my computer. I have been researching through many forums to find a solution and went through many troubleshooting steps. To confirm that it wasn't my monitor, I hooked my GPU to my old monitor and the same thing happened. To confirm that I wasn't my GPU, I hooked up my on-board motherboard graphics to my monitor and still the same thing. I saw online that a RAM stick could have gone bad so I took each of my 2 ram sticks and turned the computer on with each stick in each slot at once (stick one in slot one, turned on, stick one in slot two, turned on etc.) and still the same thing. Some notes are that the small green door on the back of the motherboard where a red led would shine through, the led was not on. Also, after about 10 seconds my GPU fan would shut off, but this might be a feature of my GPU with low temperatures (MSI GTX 970 100 Million Edition) but I would find it so weird if the GPU died when it was working perfectly an hour earlier. I did try a trick that worked for many people online where I unplug the PSU and hold the power button for 1 minute and plug the PSU back in and turn on the computer. I had no luck. I have a feeling that my motherboard is the culprit or possibly the RAM even though I checked every stick in every slot. One important note is that the motherboard power and reset buttons work and the lights are on and the blue CPU indicator lights are on. Don't be afraid to tell me that it is my motherboard because I am open to upgrading my ageing Socket 1155 system to Skylake. Also, if it is my motherboard, why did it die in an hour period when I touched no parts in my case? Thank you.

make sure you did not bent the pins on the sata port or snap the sata port off the ssd. start with taking the pc as down as you can. one ram stick and onboard video see if there any bios post. if there none try another power supply to see if yours failed (if it a cx or a low end unit it can happen).

The SSD wouldn't have anything to do with the monitor not getting a signal because a computer will POST without a hard drive, but not boot. And the PSU would not be dead if the main, core parts are powering up. Thank you for the response though.

power supplys and mb have dead short protection if they see a dead short they can act like your pc. also as a tech power supply can fail where some of the pc will power on by the power good voltage is missing. the only way is to use a test power supply or a volt meter to check the voltages.

I assume you turned on the computer with the SSD disconnected to see if anything appears on the screen?

(obviously no Windows, but you should see the motherboard info)

If something in the SSD was shorting out the PSU might prevent the system turning on.

Other:
Please use some POINT FORM next time, as many people like me have a hard time reading that.

My dad suggested that I disconnect the SSD and I told him that that shouldn't do anything but I tried it and it worked with one ram stick in the fourth slot. Finally! Then, I put the other ram stick in the corresponding slot and the system had the same problem as before. Took out the bad stick that caused the problem and the problem still persisted. I don't know what is going on.

UPDATE: I cleared the CMOS and it consistently turns on with that. However, after turning it off once and turning it back on, I usually have to clear the CMOS again to be able to turn it on. Also, when the computer is on for a bit, it shuts off on its own and turns back on. This could mean it's a PSU problem but I am still unsure at this point.

UPDATE 2: So last Wednesday I was talking with a friend and he had the same exact problem. He replaced his motherboard, the problem persisted, so he replaced the PSU and it was fixed. So I ordered a new powersupply and the problem stayed. I think at this point it's definitely a motherboard problem. I ordered all new parts and let's see what happens. Thank you to everyone that attempted to help me in this thread.
