Motherboard PCI Slot plastic cover taken off can I fix it?

More like several energy bars !!! Anyway it's unlikely it was GPU in there and there's no locks. With some delicate finger work, should be able to return it but got to watch that no pins touch each other. If it's not desperately needed I would just fill it up and cover it with hot glue so nothing can shorten the pins.
