Hi,

I would like to build a custom gaming pc. I know this build is potentially great, but my question is: is everything compatible/will everything work well together?

(I'm not planning on overclocking, so I'm going for an H97 mobo and a "no - K" cpu).
MOBO: ASRock H97M Anniversary Micro ATX LGA1150
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core
RAM: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1866MHz
VIDEO CARD: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 GDDR5 Pcie, 4GB
PSU: Corsair CX600 600W
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB
CASE: NZXT S340 Mid Tower Case (should I choose a different one? Maybe with more fans?)
(oh and no SSD, I personally find it quite useless...I know it brings SOME nice advantages, but not HUGE ones. Besides, it makes little to no difference in terms of performance).

What do you think? Any advice is welcome.

P.S.: I'm concerned about poor compatibility/bottlenecking/overheating and that kind of stuff... budget's not a big problem.

Thanks in advance.

Get an SSD, i read what you said and you are wrong. get an SSD for your o/s, games & programs. 250gb minimum, preferably the samsung 850 evo.

Crap PSU. browse the stickied PSU list at the top of the forums for a tier 1 or 2. EVGA G2 650w best priced tier 1 at moment. alternatively the EVGA supernova 750w tier 2 is a good choice.

You arent saving much at all by going with the older series. Get a I5-6600, a h170 board and 1x 8gb DDR4. you can add another stick later.

Get an SSD.

Couldn't agree more. SSD smokes with performance. Load times are crazy fast. Windows is so responsive. And the reliability is nice.

I'm an ASus fan not AsRock. Go with Skylake and DDR-4. Might as well buy something futureproof.

And for the PSU he's right. The EVGA is good. Check www.jonnyguru.com for reviews and see what he says.

Choose the case you like. Corsair and fractal designs make a nice case as well. And for cooling the cryorig H7 comes highly recommended by many for a budget cooler.

Thanks a lot, guys. Actually, I've created a new thread with a more in-depth explanation of my "issue". If you could check that thread out, you'd do me a BIG favor.

Thank you anyway, I WILL consider your helpful advice.
