Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased a laptop and have been getting random BSOD's a couple of times over the past 2 weeks. First it was "memory management", then "pfn list corrupt", and today it came up with "page fault in nonpaged area".
I ran a memtest and it came out clean. I ran Blue Screen View and WhoCrashed, reports attached. I updated all the drivers after purchase so I can't determine what could be causing the crash. Any help would be greatly appreciated & thank you in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm running Avast. How can this be causing the problem?

Thanks a lot in advance.

you would have to provide access to the actual memory dumps. Ie copy them to a server like microsoft one drive, share them with the public and post a link.

Thanks johnbl!

I only have the dump of today's crash, I uploaded it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3fcjjhs9as7vcsy/011016-25265-01.dmp?dl=0

I regularly clean up my temporary files so I guess the previous ones were deleted. Hope you can give me an idea of the origin of the problem. I have installed all Windows updates available and all my drivers should be up to date. Please let me know if I need to provide anything else. Thanks a lot for the help!

acer Aspire E5-571G
http://www.acer.ae/ac/en/AE/content/drivers
search by product model: e5-571g
shows a entire set of new drivers dated 7- 30-2015 for windows 8.1
also 7 bios updates.
looks like ver 1.31 dated 9-9-2015 is the most current.

-----------
looks like your system is having some sleep/hibernation problems. Do a full shutdown and reboot.
Then see if you can find a BIOS update and update the drivers for your motherboard.
look for intel chipset updates from your motherboard vendor.

a full shutdown/reboot should help, then you might disable the sleep functions until you get a BIOS and driver update. Ie set the system to high performance mode until after you update.

you can start cmd.exe as an admin and run the
powercfg.exe /energy
command and see if the report reports errors.

the minidump does strips out the required debugging info for this. (you can set the memory dump to kernel and the info will be saved to the next memory dump)

Thank you for the detailed answer!

I have a couple of questions remaining. My laptop is already set to high performance mode - never turns off screen or goes to sleep when plugged in. I guess the Windows update could still solve the problem, but here's the thing: I can't see any O.S. updates for my laptop on Acer's site, it just shows "No results". What can I do about this?

I also downloaded the Acer Care Center Live Updater to help with the updates but it says my computer is not supported. (???) I also get a similar answer from the Intel driver update assistant. I know this might be anything.. but do you have any idea what could be going on? As you see, I'm not an expert, but I usually manage to sort my pc problems by doing some digging, however I'm totally baffled with this one.
Thx again!!

maybe try a different browser like google chrome, or set your browser to a compatibility mode for a previous browser version.
