( First off I apologise if this is in the wrong place, I'm new here and tried my best to figure out where to place my new thread. )

Hi,
I have currently a Packard Bell iMedia S2190 which surprisingly coped resonabley with some light gaming and rendering. To cut the long story short I am looking to upgrade the APU only at this point in time, I am looking to upgrade to a AMD A10 7850k my only question is regarding compatibility. In the future I will be upgrading my ram to a higher clock speed and possibly a greater amount.

If anyone could shed any light on this it would be greatly appreciated!

Packard Bell iMedia S Small Form Factor Desktop is not suited for upgrades because of its small size. Nothing much being sold can fit into it.

I would suggest buying a bare PC case. The most common size is Mid-Tower (fits Micro-ATX and ATX form factor motherboards).
The Mini-Tower fits Micro-ATX form factor motherboards.

A88X chipset motherboard is the best chipset, while lower number models have less features but cost less.

AMD A58 chipset model...
It appears to use an AMD E2-6110 microprocessor which is 769-ball lidless Flip Chip Ball Grid Array (BOL769).

AMD E2-6110 microprocessor, BGA microprocessors, like this one, are soldered on a motherboard, for that reason upgrading or replacing them is very very difficult.

Well, It matters I don't know much about the computer since you didn't leave much information, But like Calvin7 said the Proccesor is most likely soldered on the Motherboard. I wouldn't even worry about trying to take the cpu cooler off to see if it's soldered on. Because it could mess up the cpu since you would have to reapply the thermal paste, And get isopropyl Alcohol 99% and Silver 5 Thermal paste. If you don't know how to do that, Then I would tell you to not do it, But it's your computer. So, What I would do is get this motherboard which is compatible with your proccesor that you're wanting to buy..

So what I can gather so far is I will be needing a new motherboard in order to fit a new APU, therefor my next question would be which boards are out there which would fit in the IMedia case, be compatible with my desired APU as of now and allow for future upgrades to a dedicated GPU and CPU for example, finally I'm willing to over clock the APU so I believe that would need to be taken in to account regarding the board.. To add a extra spin on things I'm on a pretty tight budget hence the APU although I'm open to suggestions regarding price as I've not done research on boards as I didn't know I would be needing a new one.. I see the suggested board at a decent price in just wondering what it can offer in regards to what I asked, eg upgrading potential..
