Hi everyone! This is my first time building a rig. Here is what I ordered http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/wGZchM

And thank you al already for all the threads that helped me decide what to get.

My question is, does this come with everything I need to put it al together or will I be required to buy additional cords/fittings? I was advised against water cooling on a first build by a trusted friend but may look into it in a year or two if I decide to run SLI.

Thanks!

Well, the SATA cables will come with the board. The mounting hardware for the cooler will come in the box of the cooler. And the case screws will usually come in a little box in side of the case.

You should get 4x4GB RAM modules, as the X99 motherboards are quad channel friendly. and instead of getting that CPU cooler might as well just get Cooler master hyper 212 evo, its basiclly the same thing but a lot cheaper. Also don't get those fans, Get Cooler Master Jet Flos, they move more air.

Thanks everyone!

@Kevern_11 I have a legal version of Win 7 on flash and I'll upgrade to 10 from there. My understanding is that it's cheaper than retail if you upgrade from a previous version? If not I will bite the bullet and upgrade through Win 7 at retail price. I don't want to bother with a disk drive because it allowed me to go X99 as opposed to z170 (I had a hard cost cap and the extra $30-$40 was needed elsewhere (also why I don't have a wireless network card). Not concerned. I can always pick one up next pay, but I haven't used the one in my laptop for years now. All the software for my hardware is online on manufacturer websites.

@M0j0jojo I went with 2 8s because if and when I upgrade to 32 (Can't see it for a while) I'll only have to buy two more sticks instead of four and from all the benches I saw there's virtually no difference in performance from going dual to quad channel. Of course 4 x 4GB is a lot cheaper. Also the reason I didn't go with the 212 despite the cheaper cost was that I read on a few threads that the Noctua tends to handle everything a little better with overclocking and I plan to go at least to 4gz, although I've seen people posting as much as 4.5 with air cooled systems, so who knows.

Thanks very much! It's been about 17 years since I've built a PC and the last time I remember a lot of frigging around with adapters and cables that I was missing. Didn't want to run into that again,.

Cheers
