My GPU is receiving power through display port when pc is switched off at plug.

I just brought a display port to connect my desktop and TV, everything ran fine and set up was simple. When I switched off and unplugged my pc, I noticed that the GPU (GTX 780) was still lit up, but not the rest of the MOBO. I immediately switched off the TV at the plug and the GPU went dark.

I tried again, by switching the desktop on and off, and the same thing happened again. I know it's not safe to have unregulated current running through the system so don't want to use the display port until it's safe.

Has anyone else had a similar problems with display ports sending current like this? Could it be the cable? Or could the TV have an option in the menu's I can't see? The television is a Panasonic 58AX802b.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response, sorry I couldn't reply sooner. I have a gigabyte z87ud3h MOBO, do you know which setting it'll be under in the BIOS? I had a look but couldn't find it

I'm not familiar with that BIOS, but you should look for Power Management and USB power. Things like that.
