Before my second monitor turned off I was getting around 40-60fps, now I'm getting around 2fps.

When my second monitor turned off, I first thought it was just a loose cable. Therefore, I made sure it was all plugged in and tight and when that didn't work, I even used my spare cable which also didn't work. I then thought something must've gone wrong in the monitor.

I then joined a game and my fps were unbearable low. The textures where bad and the framerate was absolutely awful.

What happened?

Did something happen do my graphics card? (It's a pretty old graphics card tbh - GeForce GTX 210)

Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Do I need to purchase a new graphics card?

Solution
The first thing you should do is download the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia and do a "clean install." If the second monitor stopped working at the same time that you're experiencing framerate issues, the problem is likely with the video card.
