I know there were/are a lot of threads about this question, but i still cant decide, that today which card would be a better deal. i plan to play 1080p

280x:
pros-384bit memory bandwidth, overall better card(but not so much)

cons-not so fluent performance, older, worse driver support in the future, 1gb less memory, noisy(depends on brand), power hungry

380:
pros-newer, more fluent performance, +1gb memory, good driver support for future, power efficient, less noisy

cons:bit less fps in games, and more importantly:a bit more expensive

i have to buy a new psu anyway, and i don't know if a used/secondhand 280x with higher power consumption and noise would still be worth it for less money, because the 380 does cost more in my country.

help me, what would you do?

one of the best deals i found is a 280x vapor-x (not tri-x) but i read that it is very noisy, so i dont know, if it is really that noisy, i wouldnt buy that. are you having problems with yours? what psu do you use with yours?

The 280X is a 5-10% relative performance increase at a higher power draw and less video memory. If you plan to crossfire in the future, I'd go 380/380X hands down. Otherwise I'd consider saving a bit longer and going with a 390/390X/290X your power supply willing.

i don't think i will ever be willing to pay ~300$ for a single gpu...it's just too much money for one thing, but who knows...maybe next week i win the lottery :D lol

here in hungary we have 27% value-added-tax, so it's really 300$ at least here :( i'm so sad :D
but thanks, maybe i won't go to university, just to work and get a decent gaming PC lol
