I have 4gb of ram installed but only 2 shows up

So I have 2x ram sticks installed both are 2GB each i should have 4 but it says i have 2GB and only 1,81 usable.So far i've tried going to msconfig but the max memory is 2048MB,switiching the slots of the ram sticks.I would really appriciate any help about my problem.Here's some additional info about my laptop.

this is all the info i could find about it : hynix korea 04 2GBRx8 PC3 10600s-9-10-B1 HMT 325S6B3B86(im not completly sure about the HMT 325 etc. part becouse it was half hidden becouse of some label thing and i couldn't remove it so yeah it could also be HMT 325S6BFR8C but im not sure) memory Kn2gb06o183011b7911601. Thats all the info i could find about it.

could you possibly tell me how im not really all that tech savvy.I checked the BIOS but found nothing.

yeah i understood that but there isn't an option for raising it.I may need to update my Insyde Corp. V2.11 BIOS but i don't know how :/

Okay,I sent a support email to the Insyde guys.Thank you for all your help i'll keep this post updated!
