R9 390X REquires 2 8 pin PCI-E Power Connectors

Midway through a new build (first time)
My R9 390X requires 2 8 Pin PCI-E power connections...

My modular power supply seems to have 2 appropriate cables (6+2 Pin PCI E power connectors) but only one female connector on the PSU to plug into...
Each of the Cables has 2 6+2 plugs...
Will connecting both plugs on a single cable to the GPU and the socket on the power supply be the same as connecting 2 separate cables...

I have seen that on semi modular Corsair where they have one connector labeled CPU/PCIe although they already have a hardwired CPU power.

Some power supplies do use the same connection on the PSU , like this SEASONIC.
