Can't find out why my pc can't run the simplest of games. Can someone help?

So I've tried running games like terraria on lowest graphics settings and still cannot run without lags with a very low fps. I'm still very new to PC gaming and I do not know if my computer just can't run games or if I am doing something wrong.

My basic system information:
processor: AMD Phenom(tm) || X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHZ
RAM: 7.75GB usable
System type: 64-bit Operating System, ACPI x64 based processor
GPU ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics

From what you listed, the integrated Radeon 3000 series GPU is the likely culprit. That is an entry level device really only meant for basic computing tasks. Installing just about any modern stand alone video card into this system would be a huge improvement for your overall performance.

You don't so much replace it, you just install a video card (and its drivers). When you do, the motherboard will automatically deactivate the integrated video adapter. Pretty easy.

What is your budget for a video card and from where do you purchase PC parts? It would also be good to know the make/model of your power supply (will be a label on side of device itself).
