Having some issues with new build

Upgraded finally, same case and PSU.

I went with the ASRock Z97 Intel Extreme4 mobo, Intel i5-4690k Processor, and an EVGA GTX 970 SSC GPU.

Here's my issue:
When playing from 30 mins - 2 hours+ , I experience a random restart as if someone pulled the plug on my Computers power. Monitors, keyboard, mouse, and computer all go black.

I have 3 suggestions after troubleshooting. It isn't overheating btw, the CPU or GPU are fine at temperatures even when on heavy games and streaming/recording.

1: My motherboard is faulty.
2. Possible that my motherboard is restarting because not all screws are in? (previous owner of case lost some I believe, but it has a few screws in it.)
3. My PSU is outdated and not enough for my build.

I'm 100% stuck on it being the PSU, but it could be the mobo.

PSU is branded by FSP and is only 460w.

I have my keyboard, mouse, 2 mics, audio cable, and ethernet plugged in. along with my 3 case fans and my CPU fan.

Could it be drawing to much power and just auto-restarting?

I notice the restarts really only occur when gaming for awhile or just getting my CPU and GPU working a little harder because I'm streaming or recording something.

Otherwise, i'm convinced it's a faulty mobo. I've made sure all connections are in and made sure no cables are touching in weird places. cleared CMOs and restarted a few times. Replugged my PSU completely and made sure there was nothing that was loose.

I currently have 2 case fans an a mic unplugged for now and it seems to be doing fine.

UPDATE: here's the model of the PSU - AX500-A FSP Power Supply GROUP 9PA50000101 460W WITH NOISE KILLER

It's definitely the fault of your PSU. The symptoms fit, and the 970 isn't supposed to run on a 460W PSU. The card consumes 300W under load. If you add the CPU, Mobo, drives etc it will exceed 460W. Get a 600W, 550 at least.

My bad. His formatting was pretty hard to read so maybe I skimmed a little. :)

I second jetfighter. I think it's the PSU protecting itself. FSP has been a s***** PSU OEM before, so maybe that's an older PSU we're dealing with here. Well, at least one with a functional overload protection. And 460W isn't quite enough to run a GTX 970 with a Haswell, or even Skylake.

you aleays want headroom with power options. you dont want to run that psu at its max ever. youll drain the life out of it. you may even get getting dirty wattage from it if your trying to m,ax out its capabilities.

The CX600M is equally bad, but just modular.

The post is exaggarated and the system should actually run fine, but @Keith you should ask for advice first before just buying some power supply. The price/performance ratio of that power supply is poor. The capacitors in it are cheap.

Was under the assumption Corsair was a good PSU company from what I've seen. hmm. I guess all I can do is hope then.

This is the one I went with.

Well yeah, they abuse their reputation. They're very popular, and basically everything they make is automatically assumed It's good. Corsair not only abuse it in that respect, they also put a very high price tag and they still sell a lot.

You could return it in favor for a better one. Seasonic S12II 620w or XFX 550w.

CX600M isn't equally bad.
And 460W isn't enough for GTX 970 and i5-4690K. GTX 970 and i5-4690K alone, with the designed wattage, is already 233W (i5=88W, GTX970=145W), and that doesn't even amount for wattage from other components. Not to mention this isn't the wattage when it's in load. I believe when it's loaded, the draw would be over 460W, which the wattage protection would need to shut off the PSU to ensure safety.

As for CX600M not good... Here.

Slightly overrated PSU (doubt that is designed for 750W operation), but very strong overtemp and wattage protection, ripple isn't overly murderous, decent workmanship (CWT, as everyone else, has their off days), efficiency has a clear for 80+ Bronze, almost Silver, but like I said, the PSU is overrated for what it is. So it's a decent unit given its price, just as long as you don't load it too much it shouldn't shut itself off.

Yes CX and CXM are the same.

Read more here, Why you should not buy CX(M):
http://www.overclock.net/t/1431436/why-you-should-not-buy-a-corsair-cx

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/CX600M/11.html

3.3V rail's performance in Advanced Transient Response tests
Really low hold-up time (too small of a bulk capacitor)
Only two PCIe connectors
Would like it to have higher quality capacitors in the secondary side

Corsair CX 430 (V2) Review Non-M:

I'm not sure what makes you think CX is worse than CXM, but they are equal AFAIK.

New Idea:

Going to return the Corsair, everyone give me your best opinion you can all somewhat agree on for 550+ just so I can feel safe about it not cutting off. Considering it's dying at 460w.

I saw Seasonic and some other brand.
Going to Best Buy in the next hour, I'll let you know what brands they offer.
This is what they offer. I'll be streaming tonight so i'm gonna need it tonight.
