So, I just went to pick up my SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism headset when the earcup let off a loud snap. I googled it and there were a few people who had the same thing happen.

Those are their pictures, mine is exactly the same issue, although it is still connected by wires. The audio still works and everything, it's just the center plastic piece snapped. I have only had this headset for like, 2-3 months, and have certainly not abused it in anyway. Is it worth it to RMA? Could it count as defective? Thanks for any replies... :(

There have been a couple of horror stories around the www, namely around reddit, and the headset itself is defective to begin with(as it seems) but the best way to know for sure is to contact Steelseries' support team and initiate a communication between them about the defective product. On second thoughts contact the seller simultaneously with Steelseries, that would make more progress.

I would say it is well within RMA terms.

So back here, talked to the retailer, they told me it wasn't covered, so I sort of put it off. The headset has just had the OTHER earcup break, which was a few days ago, and now all sound has cut out of the right ear cup. I have had it tied together with elastics which worked great, until now. I have the box and everything, I really wish I didn't put it off this long, would they still take it and return it? I got it in august. I'm sure it's defective in some way, cause after the first earcup broke I was so damn careful with it. Worst case I get a new headset, and I google which ones are the best and is it not the one I have... :/

UPDATE: Just submitted a ticket. I'll report back on what happens here.
