I have a brand new ASUS Maximus VIII Hero motherboard and an SSD (Samsung 850 EVO) with Windows 10 installed on it. I have the SSD selected as Boot Option #1 and it is the only storage device. Whenever the system turns on, it goes directly into the BIOS, rather than booting directly to the SSD. The only way I can boot to the SSD is by selecting it in the Boot Override section. After that it goes right into Windows like it should and everything runs perfectly.

How do I fix it so I can boot directly into Windows on system startup?

Thank you!

Okay, I kind of feel like an idiot but I solved the issue...I have been getting a CPU Fan speed error on startup. I thought nothing of it, but once I choose to ignore that sensor it booted perfectly.

Thank you for the help.

So your saying remove the SSD and try to boot directly to the USB drive, with the USB selected as Boot Option #1? Does the USB drive need to have Windows installed on it? At the moment I have a 32 gig Sandisk with nothing on it. When its plugged in two boot options show up...Boot Option 1 says "UEFI: Sandisk Partion 1" and Boot Option 2 just says "Sandisk"
