I would like to build a budget AMD machine for my parents

I have 4 GB of RAM, 550 W PSU, HDD, and Case

I need a motherboard, CPU, and a good SSD.

What should I get? They would use the computer for basic application, such as Microsoft Office. My mother goes to school and she would like a pretty quick machine to help her multitask.

I want to build her an AMD machine because I have a machine that uses Intel and I want to learn more about AMD.

I wish I could find a side panel with a see through window for the case though.

Solution
What kind of RAM is it? I'm assuming DDR3 desktop RAM. I'd suggest two things- use the FM2+ platform and get an SSD. You can use the HDD for document and media storage but the SSD will give your mom the responsiveness. Also no need for a discrete video card.

It doesnt have Windows but Ubuntu is one of the best equivalents, and there are alternatives to word and office, such as Nimble Writer, and Open Office. There are some speakers in there, too. You can put in an SSD as well...

Ubuntu is the wrong way to go for parents who are not technologically sophisticated. Go with an AMD APU (A10-7850 or something similar) and discard the discrete graphics as the stated use case didn't include 3D gaming and use the savings to buy a copy of Win10 home.
