Hello -
As a Christmas gift a family member got me a second internal hard drive for my computer. I didn't (and they didn't) realize that the one that they ordered was a SATA II hard drive as appose to SATA III. Poking around on this website, I read that the connectors for SATA are supposed to be completely backwards compatible. However, for some reason, every time I have the hard drive connected, although the post messages during boot detect the second hard drive, booting takes about two minutes longer and once it gets to the Windows 8.1 logo, the system gets hung. No loading sign or anything. I've tried looking around to find more information on the topic but I figured I would just ask a question on my own. Little help? Thanks.

I don't know to be honest. I could probably send you a link to it. Though, they said they were almsot 90% sure the page had said SATA III
