Over the past couple months, my computer has begun having problems with Pending/Bad Sectors on my Asus Q550lf laptop, to the point that tools such as seagate seatools are reporting fails, and attempting to use chkdsk causes the amount of pending sectors to increase.

Theoretically, would it be possible to back up windows 10 to a usb, boot into a Disc-based OS, get my important files, and format the HDD in order to fix Sector problems? if not, is there another way to Fix broken sectors for little to no cost?(In addition, I only have the one hard drive.)

EDIT:If you want to know, Earlier this morning, the number of Pending Sectors was listed as A(10) while now, the amount is listed as 28(40).I am attempting to find a solution, only purchasing a new hdd if absolutely necessary.

Your drive is failing and with time you will lose data or windows will not boot. BUY A NEW DRIVE! IF you can not buy a new drive you WILL need another drive, move your data over, and then use something like Boot and Nuke or some other program that you can do MULTIPLE passed on with wipe. After a few passes see if it gets better or not. Sometimes they do some times they don't sometimes they get worse. if it doesn't get better replace the drive. you will only be asking for it if you don't replace it trust me.
