Windows refuses to boot after CPU overclocking

Hello. Help me please.

I got an after market CPU cooler for xmas, the Cool Master Hyper 212 Evo. Thinking I could use it to over clock my 3.5ghz AMD FX 6300 to 4.0, or close to that safely, I installed the cooler and began to play with the over clock settings.

My mother board is a 970A-G43. So it has OC Genie II in the bios. And OC Genie comes with an overclock preset setting you can turn on that's suppose to auto set your CPU to good OC settings, based on whatever CPU you have installed.

So all I did was turn on this setting and with it on my OS will not boot up. If I turn the OC setting back off in bios, then reboot my system, everything goes back to normal. Windows boots up and everything is a-okay.

But this seems silly to me. There has to be a way to overclock my CPU with no problems, right? I mean, a FX 6300 is suppose to get up to 4.0ghz overclocked. It says on the box. And the box for my mother board had overclock bragging all over it. So what gives?

Any help on this would be very much appreciated. What can be causing this? What's the point of the motherboard having this auto overclocking setting if it doesn't work right? Is there a way around this issue and if so, how do I fix it?

Thanks so much.

Do you have the latest BIOS? Also what a CPU can OC to depends on that individual CPU, as well as the mobo and your skilld - those auto OC programs are generally rather generic and not very good, it's always best to do your OCing through the BIOS, read a few guides for you mobo and give it a try
