So i have a PC with these specs:
- P5KPL - AM motherboard
- Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E7500 (3M Cache, 2.93 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
- My pretty-useless graphic cards : Gigabyte GT-420 2GB DDR3

This PC can't even run nowadays game in 30fps in a very low quality !!
So i'm planning to upgrade my PC with a budget around maybe 200$ - 250$ for mainly gaming purpose

So is it better to upgrade my processor or my graphic cards ? I was interested on GTX 650 graphic cards , but will it compatible with my PC or not ? Or should I upgrade my processor 1st ?
Thanks :D

That weak PSU sure limits things. I'd start there by at least getting the Corsair 430CX which is a good little PSU that has powered many a budget build reliably. You can spend a little more to go with a decent 500W unit or use a more efficient GPU. Add in decent CPU cooler to overclock that old Core 2 and a cheap Radeon 380 and you're good to go

Of course even with those parts and a good CPU overclock your CPU is going to likely be the limit. When you upgrade your CPU and motherboard later you will really see the benefits of that video card. I'm also assuming you have at least 4GB of RAM though

GTX 750ti would be a nice gpu upgrade can get then on sale some times for around 120 or so usd. But it depends on what you want to do if you want to to modern gaming your going to have to upgrade a lot more than the gpu you will also need to upgrade the gpu cpu m/board psu well almost everything.
Just to get to lower end gaming a 750ti will get you a lot closer with what you have now. make sure your psu will support any video card you want though.

Hmm.. gtx 750 eh ? will it bottleneck or not on my processor ? i currently have 200W power supply ( i know its very lame, but.. ) and currently planning to upgrade it too if imma going to upgrade my gpu .

so what kind up power supply i need to support gtx 750, and should i worry about cables ? ( power supply cables, motherboard cables , etc )
Thanks.

i see. few more question, so if i replace my power supply, what should i consider when choosing new ones, like maybe the cables or something ? are all cables of different power supply is the same ? if i were to buy that radeon 380, i didnt have to replace anything except power supply right ? is my motherboard compatible with that gpu ?

The tier of the PSU and how much power you are going to need in the future. If you plan to have a build with two 380s in the future build or just a powerful single card then you wanna think about getting more power. If you are just going to get a new PSU when you do a new build then all you need to worry about are your needs right now and don't spend money on power capacity you will never use. The card should be compatible with your motherboard but it's hard to tell with those old boards. Here's a thread that has a decent list on PSU tiers

and here's a list of ones to avoid
