Fx 8350 performance lower than A8-5500?

Hi Guys! recently my brother has upgraded his computer from A8-5500 apu to FX-8350 cpu. his computer build now is:
mobo: M5A97 LE R2.0 chipset AMD970 + SB950
cpu: FX-8350
graphic card: xfx r9 270x dd
psu: 650w bronze certified
memory: 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series
all of it are not overclocked. he said on his A8-5500 apu, whenever he plays (Swordsman online) and alt tabbed the game wont have any problem. Now, when he changed to FX-8350, whenever he alt tab while playing the game will not be able to alt tab and just become unresponsive then crash. why is that happening? is something wrong? thanks in advance

Did he reinstall windows when he made the upgrade?

he just used the reset settings in windows 10.

If he did a clean install then maybe the board is at fault being not suited for FX8 core.

Yea, that board is not a very good model. It could be overheating the VRM's. Has he checked temps at all?

It is a 4 phase board, without heatsinks, on the vrms. It is not a good board, period.

if i add heatsinks on the vrm would that help me sir?

The board is not a strong board but it can run that processor .

The problem will be software .
Did he/you install the mb drivvers from the disk that came with the board?
If that wasnt done do it now

If that doesnt fix the probem then reinstall windows from scratch , then the motherboard drivers and then the graphics drivers . The order is important

i did reset the computer using the reset in windows 10. Is that considered reinstalling windows 10? if not please teach me how to reinstall windows. Also, the motherboard drivers and graphic drivers are installed.

Back up all data . Anything on the drive with windows will be lost if it is not.

But maybe try another reset first . Then the mb disk
Then the graphics driver
