My ram is faster than my cpu supports

I got a pc and my cpu supports 1333 mhz ram but i have 1600 mhz ram, can i overclock this to the normal speed and do i need to change the voltage than?

1600MHz is the normal speed, you'd want to underclock it - http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1922148/underclocking-ram-compatibility.html

If you just got it it would be easier to return the wrong RAM and buy compatible hardware.

If you already have the RAM, try it - It will underclock to the highest speed that the motherboard will support, which in your case is 1333 MHz. 1333 means that it was tested at 1333 and will run 1333; it might also rum 1600. Try it..
