New to the whole pc gaming thing, want to know if my computer will work with this setup

Hi, I have recently bought into the PC gaming market with, quite frankly a potato PC, which is why I am wanting to upgrade it as integrated graphics are painfully bad even in less demanding games.

These are my current PC bits
motherboard : http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/A55M-P33.html#hero-specification
cpu : http://www.amazon.com/AMD-A6-3670K-Graphics-Quad-Core-Processor/dp/B006J420T0
12gb of ram
power supply : http://microdream.co.uk/zoostorm-lpa-300c-atx-300w-psu-power-supply.html#.VoJ-IPmLSUk

(dunno if this is everything, but I think so anyway)

I am planning to buy this gpu : http://www.ebuyer.com/714731-msi-radeon-r7-360-2gb-gddr5-dual-link-dvi-i-hdmi-displayport-pci-e-graphics-r7-360-2gd5-oc
I also need a new cpu fan but that is less important, it sounds like a small hurricane in my room I have decent headphones so it isn't a massive issue , but any help would be appreciated.

I have heard that I will need to get a better psu for the new gpu but I don't know which one I would need, not planning on replacing motherboard and cpu since I don't have enough money and I would have thought that dedicated graphics were the biggest problem I have at the minute with my games. Sorry for jumping around websites and the wall of text, thanks for reading :) If possible I would like to buy the parts off ebuyer and amazon, even if they are a bit cheaper somewhere else I would rather get it all from one place.

Most important is how much are you willing to spend? The easiest upgrade would be a GTX 750 Ti. That way you don't need to change your PSU, and will get very similar performance to the 360 anyway. For the cooler I recommend a Cryogig H7 if your case can fit it; if not, a Raijintek Pallas will be your best choice.

Says who? The 750Ti can easily play most games at mid-high with perfectly acceptable frame rates at 1080p. The 970 is only if you want to max everything out at 1080p. Either way, it's irrelevant here as there is not way you can use even half the performance of the 970 with a A6 3670K.

Future proofing, for if he ever wants to upgrade, when games get more demanding he will still push acceptable frame rates, a friend of mine has a 750ti he cannot play alot of modern games without lagging quite a bunch just letting him know if he wants a better experience and to save some money in the future the 970 would be a good option

It makes absolutely no sense to buy a GPU you can't even utilize 50% of for futureproofing. In that theory, if I bought a 570 two years ago and upgraded today I'd be better off than buying a 960 now. The 960 is substantially faster than the 570, has support for newer features and consumes less power. A low end GPU + a 960 costs the same as a 570 did when it was new. You're better off having a balanced build rather than a outrageously powerful component that you can't use anyway.

90% of enthusiasts will tell you the same.

i understand where you are coming from, sure it will bottleneck.. granted. but... if int he future he did decide he wanted to go ahead and get a better processor then he wont have to fork out extra money for another gpu, if you get where i am coming from, its just my opinion

Your cost argument is invalid. A GTX 570 cost $350 at launch. A 550Ti cost $140. The GTX 960 costs $200. All prices are MSRP.

A 550Ti plus an upgrade to the 960 costs a total of $340. The 960 is faster than the 570, offers substantially more performance, is more power efficient and supports newer features, not mentioned will be supported for longer. This is more than enough evidence to support my claim.

Yes, i agree with you but im just saying if he wants a bit more power for the future then the *70 series are good options

i am not talking about a 570 i am talking about a 770 or a 970

Same thing. A GTX 750Ti + a GTX 1160 or even a GTX 1060 will cost less than a 970 / 770, based on past trends while being more powerful in the end (Or at least very similar in performance in the case of the GTX 1060 to the 970).

Honestly i cba to argue with you but if OP wants a powerful card, if he wants to upgrade his cpu in the future then i can reccomend a 970

Sorry for the slow reply guys, my price range is around the £90 range for a gpu, will the 750ti do for most modern games like fallout 4 at low-med graphics at 30fps with a screen size of around 1360x768, as that is what i am used to on skyrim so was looking for around that level.

Yes it will do the job easily

Easily. With that resolution you can expect to game on even higher settings and still get good FPS.

How much are you willing to spend overall on both the CPU Heat-sink and the GPU?

overall i was hoping for around £110, since i was thinking of the 360 at the time, might have to wait a bit until i can safely afford food and a new fan, max fan price would be around £30-40

i was gonna get this card http://www.ebuyer.com/658544-msi-gtx-750-ti-2gb-gddr5-vga-dual-link-dvi-i-hdmi-pci-e-n750ti-2gd5-ocv1 since my motherboard is msi as well so i think keeping the same brands will help with compatibility (just guessing here, no real experience with these things so....) that fan is out of stock, was thinking of this one, but idk http://www.ebuyer.com/719014-cryorig-c7-slim-heatpipe-cpu-cooler-cr-c7a

for that card i would need to buy a different wire for my monitor as it is currently VGA to VGA, would need to buy a DVI to VGA/DVI not much of an issue, just that by the end of it the prices are pretty much the same with the EVGA maybe a bit higher, would it still be worth it or is the difference in speed not really that important
