I want to bring my GPU to his house in order to play some split-screen games but I am afraid that my GPU could also suffer from whatever reason his GPU died (his PC still works on integrated graphics and the GPU was sent back). Might it be a bad PSU? Or was it a clear factory problem with the 380?

Solution
Possible causes are:

- Not seated tightly in the PCIe slot
- Not correctly set in BIOS to use PCIe instead of iGPU
- Loose video cable connection
- Loose power connector / not enough power from PSU
- Bad RAM

Well... Thanks for the replies. I tried my 7950 in his system and it worked perfectly (during my 3-day long stay). He already sent his GPU back to the store and awaits an answer now.
