I was wondering what cpu would be better for what I need. I am aware the 6500 uses a difrrent socket and chipset. Its no problem as I have no parts currently. This pc is on a tight budget. I would do alot of virtulization, some gaming(skyrim,oblivion, diablo,) web browsing, word processing and a maybe a little video editing(nothing big). I know the Xeon is best for editing/rendering but it may be overkill for me(it also has no onboard graphics which I may need temporarly). I don't really need overclocking(I never have nor know how to exactly) but I liked the price and specs of the 4690k

I think the 4690k Is a very respectable cPU that can handle your needs.. A lot of people are going to say run to Skylake but when you do its going to cost more for board cpu and ram, While the 4690k is still where its at for now.
