I was wondering what cpu would be better for what I need. I am aware the 6500 uses a difrrent socket and chipset. Its no problem as I have no parts currently. This pc is on a tight budget. I would do alot of virtulization, some gaming(skyrim, oblivion, diablo,) web browsing, word processing and a maybe a little video editing(nothing big). I know the Xeon is best for editing/rendering but it may be overkill for me(it also has no onboard graphics which I may need temporarly). I don't really need overclocking(I never have nor know how to exactly) but I liked the price and specs of the 4690k

I prefer I5 4690k, since LGA 1150 part is far more cheaper besides you can upgrade to Xeon in the future. Skylake have different socket between core i and Xeon proc. besides full power of DDR4 will be released on cannonlake.
