First time building a PC, my budget is around £550 but I'm already looking at £650 without a monitor, mouse or keyboard... Definitely need some advice on where to make cuts, if that's possible :??: Here we go:

Some background: I'm finally replacing my 7-year-old ASUS laptop which sounds like a helicopter taking off - hoping to get some peace and quiet with a desktop. So main objectives are to have a quiet build at a reasonable cost and, of course, improve my life with pretty games like Witcher 3, Fallout 4, GTA V and probably revisiting Skyrim on full throttle to enjoy the elusive beauty I've heard all these rumours about.

NOTE: I added in current prices from Amazon UK as that's where I'm looking to buy from.

Solution
Ok, here would be my suggestion.....and stick with the ASUS monitor for 70 you mentioned.

£550 is not totally strict, and like I said I'm already looking at £650 without a monitor, mouse or keyboard (but including OS). Ideally I'd like to cut down on the parts I've picked here so I could throw in an ASUS 21.5" monitor for around £70 and a cheap keyboard + mouse. Still probably going to be over budget though...

You could drop the video card from your build and use the onboard graphics until you could afford a proper card or due an AMD build.

That would put you around 650 "all in", giving you a solid foundation. The i5, a quality PSU, and SSD etc.
GPU could be better, but should get you by for a while at decent settings. Then you can upgrade when you get a chance (a better option that onboard graphics for sure).
