So I just purchased a Samsung SSD 850 EVO and would like to do a clean install. I have Windows 7 and went to Microsoft and downloaded the MediaCreationTool and used it to create the WindowsISO and burned it onto a disc. After that I installed the SSD onto my laptop and booted the laptop. I hit F12 and below is the option that popped up.

Boot Menu gives 3 options:

1. HDD/SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO
2. CD/DVD: Toshiba SuperMultiPA3761
3. Atheros AR8132M

When I click CD/DVD black screen loads and states Check Cable Connection! Operating System not found. How do I install Window if this keeps coming up? I should explain the CD/DVD drive is an external drive.

Please Help!

It has BIOS VERSION V1.10

I can't for the life of me find the Secure Boot. Under the Security Menu it asks Password Info and under the Boot Menu it lists
HDD/SSD: Samsung SSD
CD/DVD: Toshiba
FDD:
LAN: Atheros

If I load the WindowsISO on an external hard drive will it erase the external hard drive when I upload the file to the laptop?

Check Cable Connection keeps coming up even after I have switched the Boot Menu to the following and restarted:

CD/DVD: Toshiba
FDD:
! HDD/SSD: Samsung SSD
! LAN: Atheros

If you are setting DVD as your first boot device and it is not working I am reasonably confident that your BIOS is UEFI and that you need to disable Secure Boot.

Press F2 when your PC boots

Check each of these tabs [Security, Boot Authentication] for "Secure Boot" option and set it to "disabled".

Once you have disabled Secure Boot, set DVD as your first boot device and reboot your PC and it should work.
