How can i hook my linkeys router to an outdoor wifi antenna to reach outside of a metal building. My router only has ethernet

You really don't put just a antenna outside anymore. The cost of a outdoor bridge which has the antenna and a bridge in the same box is about the same as just the antenna.
It depends on your needs but you can look at engenius or ubiquiti they sell many models. You pretty much just run a ethernet cable from your router to the device outside.
