Nvidia 980 Kingpin Power Supply Question

I just got a 980 Kingpin, and I don't plan on overclocking for a little while. It has a 8pin+8pin+6pin power supply pin(s), and I was wondering if I would need to use all 3 if I do not plan on overclocking just yet? If not, which pin(s) should I use?

Chances are that you need to populate all of them or the card won't work.

I read something about a card not needing all 3 unless you wanted more power but that may have been another brand. From what I can see, you'll need to use all three, I'll ask and make sure.

Somewhere I read for the old kingpin you only needed to use the 6 pin and the adjacent 8 pin connection, as that is enough to run the card.
However I cant confirm with the new one, and I would recommend populating all the connections regardless.

Was able to get it to run with just 8x6 (8 closest to the 6) - but why not just plug in all 8x8x6
