I have dell inspiron 14R laptop and the mini wireless card won't show up in device manager. If I reboot many times after shaking laptop it shows up sometimes but vanishes immediately if I move laptop (specially tilted vertically). It won't show up again till I do shaking/rebooting again and again.

I changed original wireless centrino card with Intel ac 7260 but in such case only bluetooth shows up(consistently !!) and no wireless card shows up in device manager.

I have cleaned the wireless cards with clorox wipes , re-inserted card many times. Tried original centrino wireless card as well as intel ac 7260 card with many trials, reinstalled drivers may times, but all in vain. Issue is still the same. Wireless card ( and apparently wireless network) won't show up and I have to use ethernet cable all the time.

One noticeable thing is, if I use ac 7260 wireless card ( which has bluetooth inbuilt along with wireless card), then bluetooth shows up consistently irrespective of laptops physical location/tilt but wireless card won't show up in device manager. That makes me confuse that if card is not tight then how come Bluetooth shows up ?

I formatted and reinstalled windows 7, but no luck.

Any clue - what could be wrong here ? I am suspicious on the wireless network slot . But if that is the problem , how come bluetooth shows up consistently(for ac 7260) ? Can I replace wireless socket on motherboard ? Is that possible ?

Any suggestion is appreciated. I am open to try all combinations. Thank in advance.

Due to the delicate and compact nature of a laptop/mobile computing device's sockets on a motherboard it usually dictates that you swap the motherboard out if and when a problem arises with the slots. You can solder on a new socket(wireless, ram or the likes) but that isn't advised. Now regarding your problem, the issue was persistent while on your previous wireless networking adapter? If so then there may be an issue with the antennas that lead upto the laptop bezel or where the hinge may reside. In fact have you double checked the antenna wires connected to the adapter? The white wire is supposed to be on the main antenna pint while the black wire should be on the aux point.

If your laptop is yet under warranty I'd suggest you contact the seller regarding the issue or perhaps Dell's support team and see if there is a solution. A shake on a device isn't a good sign mind you, it can leave your HDD open to damage and sometimes cause damage to the CPU fan located within your laptop.
