Need help diagnosing random freezing/lock-ups on PC build!

Here's my build:
Intel i5 6500 4x3.2GHz 6th Gen
8GB DDR4 (2133MHz)
GTX 960 4GB DDR5
DVD Burner
1 TB Hard drive 7200rpm SATA III
780W PSU
2 x 120mm case fans

I'm having really annoying problems with my PC. It freezes randomly while either completely idle, or playing demanding games; it doesn't matter what I do, it will still lock up after an hour

or two of being on.
When it freezes, all fans (including PSU) are still operating, but there is no power to USB's, and the hard drive activity light stops flashing. Anything on my monitors freeze and there is no

response. My only option then is to force shutdown by holding the power button.
Originally I thought it would be my PSU as it was a bit small, so I upgraded it to the current one and the problem persists.
I have done a memtest and no problems.
I have done a GPU and CPU stress test, and all passed.
All drivers are up to date.
I have checked all wiring and all is correct.
Temperatures all run between 30-45 celcius. GPU runs around 55 celcius.

I have done all necessary virus checks etc, and all fine. I have only had this PC for a week.. (not sure when problem began as I haven't been using it for long enough periods).

I read somewhere that a USB wifi adapter could cause problems - is this true? (I am using one).

When I first turn on my PC, the motherboard VGA light comes on for a short period (sometimes up to 30 seconds) until the monitor then shows the display. I doubt that has anything to do with

it though.

Does anyone else have any ideas? They would all be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Harry

I haven't checked that, but will do next time I boot. Right now I'm redownloading my integrated graphics drivers to see if my GPU is the issue.

My power supply is here: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/g7-780w-atx-pc-power-supply-n34hc
It's only a >76% PSU but seeing as my built only draws ~490W, it's more than enough.

My previous power supply was an 80+ unit, so I highly doubt it's the power supply causing the problem. Also, this was prebuilt by a company for me, which many others have the same version of, an none others have had this problem.

I'm finding this question is popping up frequently on this forum. Please see the following thread as we are making progress on the problem. Short story: try disabling C-states in your BIOS. If freezing goes away or is much reduced, you've got the same problem as us, and should put in your two cents there if you can. Thanks!
