I'm having a bunch of issues doing this. First I tried to wipe my hard drive, but it wouldn't let me do it, so I reinstalled windows on my Hard drive and then it let me do it, hallelujah. I did this via the settings in Windows 8.1.

I come back an hour or two later and I see the computer is reinstalling windows on my hard drive even though I did not tell it to. I just want the hard drive to be empty. I want my OS on my SSD. Any ideas?

Solution
The quickest way.
Leave your old hard drive connected.
Disconnect the SSD drive for the time being via Data and power.
Run your windows 8.1 setup and install if you can boot from your Dvd drive or Usb flash drive of the windows 8.1 setup and install.

When you get to the options windows where it asks you where you want to install windows too.
Click on the advanced drive options.
You will first have to delete or remove the primary partition of the drive, or any other partitions created other than the listed primary of the drive delete all. and then click format.

At this point once done by pressing escape ect exit the windows install and setup.
Now remove, or disconnect the Sata data cable from the back of the mechanical drive and the...

At this point once done by pressing escape ect exit the windows install and setup.
Now remove, or disconnect the Sata data cable from the back of the mechanical drive and the power.
Fit your SSD drive in the system and use the same Data cable as used with the Mechanical drive and connect the power from the Psu to the Sata SSD drive.

Boot, or power up your system and in the bios for your Sata ports make sure the Interface is set to Ahci mode.
save the new settings before you exit your bios.

Pop your Dvd disk of windows in the Dvd Drive or use a flash drive with a boot able windows 8.1 setup and install.
Making sure either the Dvd drive or the Usb flash drive is set to the first boot device in your bios.

Let windows setup load and run to the point again, where it asks you what drive you wish to install windows to.
You should now see your new SSD drive listed.

Again click on advanced drive options. Select the ssd drive, then click format.
Then click next on the windows setup and install.

Once the install has finished on the SSD drive and you know it boots into windows 8.1 to the desktop/ login.
Shut down the system.
Connect your mechanical drive via another Sata cable connected to Sata port 2 of your motherboard with power to the drive also.

Turn the system back on and let windows boot off the new SSD drive.
When you click on my computer you should see .
C: as the SSD drive.
Your old Mechanical drive will be listed as a D: drive.

And your done.
Do it this way to avoid confusion and destination install of the os.
And formatting of the old drive for Data storage over it being the boot device.

Thanks man. Bad news tho, I dropped my hard drive like 2 feet onto a carpeted floor because I was trying to erase the data from another computer before, because of a friend's advice. And It happened while switching it between computers. It appears to be working fine though. Would you say it's okay?
