Sound card recommendations for music/gaming

Hello everyone,
Got a pair of 2.1 HK soundsticks III and i fear that the onboard sound is not doing them justice. I am looking for a good quality sound card but nothing over the top that I dont need. I only use the speakers for music and gaming.

Recommendations please :)

Really you don't a sound card if your motherboard has one "which it probably does". If you want better sound then your mobo then your going to need an expensive sound card.

External DAC are expensive and the cheap ones are crap and the computer frequency noise is not noticeable on my msi board nor should it be for you. Unless you have a old computer. Just stick with the one you have and save money.
