Lately I have been having issues booting my pc. It started as a hang just after the splash screen caused by my logitech extreme 3d pro. Unplugging it usually caused it to boot immediately. Later it progressed to the computer rebooting immediately after the windows logo and saying windows wants to repair. The past couple weeks it has started to hang on the motherboard splash screen as well as reboot after windows logo regardless of the flight stick being plugged in or not.

Today was a breaking point, and I need to get rid of this issue. I believe the issue is the motherboard because the hang happening at the motherboards splash screen where the OS has no effect however I don't know. Could it be something else like my windows 7 install having errors? Could it be my samsung 840 series SSD failing? What is the most likely cause of this issue because I would rather replace a part that isn't working right than try 6-10 times to get my computer to start.

This system has never crashed anywhere aside from booting.

i7 5820k
Corsair H100i
ASRock X99 Extreme4
G. Skill Ripjaws DDR4 2400 (4x4)
EVGA GTX 980 FTW
Corsair HX1000i
Samsung 840 Series 120gb
Western Digital Caviar blue 1x 1TB 2x 500GB

Solution
i would make sure everything is plugged in correctly, cables, and remove any unnecessary stuff like the 3d pro.
reinstall windows and/or try running memtest. unfortunately problems like this can be a lot of trial and error. good luck .

it could be the SSD but i bet its one of the ram sticks. Id never touch gskill. (i always recommend crucial kingston or corsair)

unplug the 3d pro and start with booting with 1 ram stick at a time. Again 1 ram stick seated closest to the cpu to eliminate a ram issue. After that post back. As for the post above all I can say is been using G.Skill for many years now and never had any issues. PC parts can fail it happens.

sure and theres millions of users who are also fine with gskill. its just that their failure rate is much higher than crucial for instance. And intermittent ram issues are a pain in the ass to resolve.

gskill spend too much money on researching funky colored 'leet' heatsinks instead of quality control. Crucial (micron) works and theres a reason they dominate the enterprise market.

Any memory modules from any brands can fail at sometime. I will try to test each memory modules individually by installing only one at a time to see if the situation improves. If some crucial files of the OS have been corrupted, this will require more test on more parts to figure out what's the source(s) of the problem. In any case, it looks like there is at least one fealty piece of hardware that must be found and replaced.

Again I was stating my experience, relax. Also it's per users choice for ram. Also can't compare apples to oranges with these types of things. Also failure rates can very depending on what the user does to cpu/ram/gpu etc
