This is not the first time ive had this problem and it most likely will not be the last.
A week ago I was playing games with a buddy in Skype when i noticed my Ethernet connection shoot up to about 400-500 ping so we took a timeout and i went to reset it. And after that Ethernet has not been able to be used at all for internet. Wifi however is fine on the same computer and all other devices in the house hold.

I've tried many fixes since the issue occurred and like everything on PC. one mistake leads to another.

I am on windows 10. When the problem started i was on windows 8 but i updated shortly after.

I am not sure what information to provide to help fix said problem but my current diagnose says
""Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration" however ive also gotten "One or more protocols on the system is missing" and other errors.

Help would be much appreciated!

All i know is last time i had this problem it was accidentally fixed when i was in contact with our ISP and he changed our IP or something because our modem was acting funky.

(also if there is anything i can buy to help prevent this problem in the future please inform!)

Hi, "doesnt have valid IP adress" means you should check up your IP. You can try to check the "automaticaly obtain IP" option and see if this fix your problem
You could list what you tried so far so we can avoid suggesting those over and over.
For now i can only suggest this and reinstalling network driver
Might also be hardware issue in which case you should change adapter

P.S. There is NO "accedental" fix of internet while you talk to your provider :)

Thanks for the response!

So far i have tried both those solutions and a million more so i can not exactly state which ones i have tried... because i forgot what i did.

Also its hard to fix this problem because diagnose shows a new error every now and then
Now it says:

One or more network protocols are missing on this computer Not fixed Not Fixed

Windows Sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing.
