I have this old Windows Vista computer and I wanted to see if it still works. E Machine ET1161-07. I tried to install SteamOS, but I couldn't get it work. The darn thing wouldn't even boot on my Custom PC. I know Some PCs have the Product Key built in the BIOS or whatever. So is there a way I can download a tool and boot into it?

Well, yes that does make sense, if it was on the hard drive. And I am not even using the same HDD hence the original one died. I was hoping I could find the BIOS produkey or something. But if I can't SteamOS wouldn't show up on the boot menu, and when I booted it on my PC it said something about it being unauthorized modifications to EUFI. I would actually prefer SteamOS on it.

Ok, I followed your instructions. I was a dingus and I didn't your way didn't work. I found the activation code on the back of the case. But the installation I downloaded was Vista Home Basic, but the code I have is Home Premium. It said the code was invalid. Help?
