First build almost finished today, it works perfectly without graphics card with monitor connected to motherboard. I've installed windows 7 without graphics card. But whenever I connect graphics card to monitor via HDMI cable (the only cable I have that fits both my monitor and my card) I get an error. Edit: The error which appears on the monitor is a "No cable detected!" Error
Details: graphics card: Gigabyte AMD R9 380
Monitor: BENQ 2450HM
Mobo: Z97s SLI Krait Edition (ATX)
The graphics card has one 8-pin PCie power connector which I have connected. The card doesn't connect to the monitor when placed in either of the Pcie slots on the motherboard
Any help is greatly appreciated

I tried a new cable that I know works but there was still no display, so the cable isn't the problem. I think it might be the HDMI input on the monitor as even when the cable is plugged into the HDMI port on the monitor and plugged into nothing else I get the "No cable connected" error rather than the "no signal!" Error. Opinions? If this is the case should I replace the monitor (I have free returns) or just buy a DVI cable to connect to the monitor and card?
