Will a 500w power supply work with a 220w pc?

I need a new power supply because my current one does not have a 6pin connector to power my new GeForce gtx 750ti. My current power supply is 220w but there seems to be very Little on the market. If I purchase a 500w power supply will it work with my pc?

If it will physically fit, it should work. If your motherboard has standard power plugs, 24pin and either 4 or 8 pin CPU power, then a quality 500W, like a seasonic or EVGA should be fine.

Not only will it work you need it, a 220w PSU is not enough for a GTX 750ti.

Seasonic, XFX, or EVGA are the brands you need to look for. Don't buy just any 500W PSU

500W is overkill for your system but if you got a good 500W it defiantly wouldn't do you any harm, as suggested above you are safe with anything from XFX/Seasonic also most things from EVGA are very high quality, you could also look at the Corsair CX430W for that setup, unlike most of the other PSU's in the CX range the 430W actually has pretty good reviews as a long-mid end Gaming PSU
