I got my new computer more than 2 years ago, and nowadays while gaming CPU hungry games like GTA V, dota 2 my cpu temp goes over 90deg Celsius within 10-15min. Today it went more than 95C

So I thought of maybe reseating my heatsink so i pulled fan and stuck it back(reseating afaik, correct me if im wrong)

Still same problem

So what should i do ?
Get hyper 212 evo or just clean thermal paste and apply again

Specs
I5 3570k
8GB ram
HD 7950
600W corsair

If you are using the stock Intel (Push Pin) mounting cooler, it can be very difficult to get all 4 pins "latched" into the mobo. If even one pin is not latched, a corner of the CPU will be raised up, not making contact with the CPU and causing overheating.

Some cases will have a removable panel to see the underside of the mobo and verify that all 4 pins are latched. Others do not and you will have to remove the mobo from the case to verify that all 4 pins are latched into the mobo.

Also check the air flow through the case. I think this is something folks overlook. Putting a great cooler on the chip is fine but you've got to get the heat out of the case. I have a Dell XPS8700 (i7 4790k) that runs BOINC 24/7 at 100% usage. My temps stay in the high 50s and very low 60s. How? I have a 90m fan in the front of the vase pulling air into the case. The chip cooler is a Noctua NHL12 (2 fans). And, there are 2 fans at the exterior rear of the case. One is mounted at the case exhaust port and the other on the exhaust port of the power supply. One of the two fans on the Noctua cooler runs at full speed as do the front 90mm fan and the fan on the ps exhaust outlet. This runs very coolly now.

For that can i use Cooler Master IC Value V1 Thermal Compound as a thermal paste
Also what is that Qtip and coffee paper everyone talks about to clean it with, can i not use some regular tissue or cloth

I say get the CRYORIG H7 and get some ARCTIC MX-4 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186038&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

the cryorig h7 is the best bang for your buck unless you can get the hyper212evo for $20.

i sure hope your 3570k isn't overclocked and hitting 90-90c. if you are on stock vcore and stock frequencies its probably unlikely any electromigration has occured unless you were sustaining those temps for hours.

otherwise

I think thats a pretty decent compound, use that if u have it lying around.
yes u have to use a 99% or 90% isopropyl alcohol and no u cannot use a regular tissue or cloth which are gonna leave small particles on the surface. use microfiber cloth or cotton swabs.

I heard someone that 99% works better, well he could be wrong :)

Do not use AS5, use the cooler master thermal compound and later get MX2/MX3 or you could get Thermaltake TG-3/TG-4.

why not AS5 ?
i have never used TIM before so i dont know which is good
is it because it is double the price without much difference ?

It is because of the 200 hour curing time.
