Does this sound like power supply protection?

So basically ever since I got my new power supply I've had my computer shut down out of the blue a few times (as if it suddenly lost power). My old power supply was utter junk, no protections against over-voltage, over-current et cetera, and my city's power grid has been known to not be the most stable. It has damaged components in the past and destroyed my UPS during a big surge.

So my questions is does this sound like my PSU's protection is kicking in and shutting down the system? My power supply is a Coolermaster V850.

Solution
That's a top tier PSU according to Tom's Hardware. If you're running it from a UPS it seems unlikely to be the PSU.
If you're running it without a UPS on a "dirty" power line it's probably the dirty power and the PSU is shutting down to save itself.

That said, every manufacturer puts out a lemon once in a while. Check with Cooler Master to get their recommended way to check the output voltages.

Tried monitoring the power coming off the wall and my PC shut down practically the moment a voltage spike happened. Seems like it's indeed the over-voltage protection. Also no I'm unfortunately not running it off a UPS because I can't afford one at the moment.
