Assassin's Creed Rogue Crashes Upon Character Movement

I have an R9 390 graphics card. Assassin's Creed Rogue crashes in the very beginning of the game only when I move my character. I don't know why it's happening. I have the latest version. I even reinstalled it. And I even reinstalled it a third time without the patches. Still happening though.

Any advise?

Whats the specs for the rest of your system? Are your drivers all up to date?

Yes drivers are all up to date. Specs are.

Mobo: Gigabyte Z97-UD3H-BK
CPU: I5-4460
GPU: MSI R9 390
RAM: 16GB 1600Mhz Crucial Ballistix Sport

That looks similar to your problem.

Okay, so setting the environment quality to high instead of very high did fix the problem. But then it crashed again later. So I'll have to toy around with stuff. Thanks for your help!

I would have a look at something like afterburner to see whats happening to your temps, usage, etc in game. The only time I've had games crash is when things have spiked.

NO, that's all good, temps are 70C. It's just the environment quality setting, it's a bug with the game. I have to play with it on low. And as said, a crash resulting only from walking obviously is a game bug rather than an issue with temps or spikes. And my PSU is high quality.

Very poor optimisation by the developers then :/

I was just wondering as I never had any issues with the games and have a fairly similar system.

Actually aside from that small issue, the graphics and CPU side of things are very well optimized. Unity on the other hand is so bad I can't believe it. Not only do the graphics look only half as good (on the settings my card can handle), it basically stress tests the GPU which causes it to get quite hot and the fans to blow 90%.

Yeah Unity had my case sounding like it was going to take off! I did like the multiplayer though so put up with it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who experienced the Unity "stress test". I still have Syndicate to play, wonder how that is.

It did work the gpu but no where near as much as Unity and actually produced great results.
