Hi. Im currently in a dilemma.
im about to buy a new router for better speed and better signals
the whole day I read some reviews of some routers around 200$
Now im choosing between:
Asus rt-87u
Netgear ac 1900 r7000
tp link touch p5

I really cant choose between those 3.. the price tags are about the same

I Like the easy toch screen of the tp link and the guest acces.
The nighthawk looks great too. But I dont know of netgear is still a good brand to go with. Still good reviews though.
Asus. Yeah Asus is Asus. Normally not such a big fan of Asus. But I know there routers are good.
but I think tp link and netgear are more specialised in routers, as they only make network product.

Someone can give me an advice or does someone have experience with these routers ?
thx

Solution
The ac68 will be better than the for example the ac56. Will there be a noticeable differance in general computing, unlikley, gaming, probebly. This is because usb is serviced by the computers cpu, pcie is not, the use of the pcie card will reduce load on the cpu.

If you do not get an ac adapter than their is little reason to get an ac router. The new router will not improve speed unless you replace the adapter also. Unless you currently have a G router.

I believe your current adapter is only 450mbps the 900 is 450x2 for each band. Some of these advertising numbers can be misleading. And evein if it could support 900mbps it would be limited to about 450 mbps because of the usb.

1more question. If im going for the Asus router, is it a good idea to buy the Asus pce-ac68 wifi adapter with it ? currently using the linksys ae3000.

yeah that will be no problem. But is it worth it to spend extra 80 dollars on that wifi network card adapter instead of holding my linksys ae3000 stick ?
And will the pce ac68 card better then a usb adapter ?
thx

thx for your explanation.
Currently using the wd 4300 router from tp link and the linksys ae3000 adapter.
So I think im going for the asus rt 87u router with the pce ac68. ( Do you think my speed and signals improve drastically ?
However I heard good things about the tp link wdn-4800 network adapter, but It doesnt support ac right ?.
Im a bit a noob in networking :)
