Does size matter?

Do smaller graphics cards perform slower? Or is it simply a cooling difference for over clocking and such? Here are two cards I was comparing

Yeah, performance shouldn't be different unless stated, i.e higher mhz

You are correct. Most of the size of graphics card is to accommodate the large heat sink and fans. In fact most of the boards stop after the first fan.

Unless you have space limitations inside your case, I would recommend the two fan coolers on intermediate graphics cards.

I do. One of the issues that you will run into with gaming systems is excess heat. I have seven case fans plus three fans on the CPU cooler. Excess heat is the main cause of a early death for electronics.

Excess heat is easier for electronics to deal with than the constant power up and power down cycles that people put their PC's through.
