Xbox One or PC?

I am looking to purchase either an Xbox One or a PC. I could buy the Xbox right now, whereas I'd have to save a while for the PC. I'd look to spend around £750-£900 max on the PC. I know that games will look better on a PC, it's mainly just the cost. I was also wondering what PC I could put together with the money. Should I go with the Xbox One now, or wait and go for a PC? And what sort of spec PC could I get for £750-£900? Thanks!

If I went for the PC, the specs would probably be similar to this:
CPU - Intel Core i5-4460
GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 970
MoBo - MSI H97 Guard Pro
RAM - Corsair Vengeance Blue 8gb (2x4gb)
SSD - Samsung 250gb SSD
Hard Drive - WD 1tb HDD
PSU - Corsair CX600
Case - NZXT S340 Mod-Tower

Any recommendations to improve the PC and/or lower the cost would be helpful too! Thanks Again!

The graphics out of a console are roughly the same as a computer you'd build to open emails .

I have both and only because most of my friends play on Xbox. If all my friends played on PC then that's only what I would play on so it really depends on that and if you would want to use a PC for more than just gaming as well. Xbox Ones are pretty cheap right now, though, so it wouldn't be a bad decision to go that route if you're still unsure.

I can get an Xbox for around £250, and a lot of my friends play Xbox. But I know PC will outperform a console.

Dollar for dollar or pound for pound, the Xbox One will be far better value if your main interest is gaming; a PC is a general purpose computer, a console is designed specifically for gaming . Yes a high-spec PC will beat a console, but if an Xbox One is good enough for you, do you really need to spend more? You could buy an Xbox One for £300 and use the remaining £600 to buy a very good quality screen with change left over for speakers.
