Vista Seeing Only 2TB of 5TB Drive, Even When Using GPT?

I purchased two 5TB internal hard drives for backup storage. The Disc Management utility only recognizes them as 2048 GB drives, even when initialized with GPT. They each behave the same, so it seems that the issue is with my system, not the drives. Any suggestions on how to get the system to recognize the full size of the hard drives? My computer is running Vista Business, Service Pack 2.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried it with EaseUS Partition Master and in that software it still only showed as 2 TB.

I called a friend who works in IT and he thought it might be the chipset device software or BIOS. Updated both of those and it did not help either. He thought that if it was not that software, maybe there is some limitation in the motherboard. The computer is from circa 2008. It was a beast of a computer then, but technology has a way of moving forward.

Yes, I deleted all partitions, but it still showed 2 TB. :-/

Are you sure that the drive is in GPT type? In Disk management, click on the square box at the left of the drive and see what options you have?
