Alright, I've been looking for a straight answer. If I buy a Radeon HD 7870 to go with my overclocked HD 7850 (860 Core, 1200 Mem to 1030 Core, 1350 mem) right. Will the Radeon HD 7870 still downclock or will it now be like two 7870's. I wanna know whether it would be worth it for me to do this because if not I might as well go buy another 7850 or keep what I have.

Solution
You're going to get the equivalent performance of having two of the lesser cards. The bigger card will simply run below 100% utilization, while the slower card will be running close to full-tilt most of the time, which is fine. Overclocking the slower card will improve performance of both cards, as usage of the faster will increase as the slower one's performance difference decreases.

Your overclock on the 7850 is good and will bring you awfully close with a mixed 7850/7870 Crossfire pair to what a pair of 7870's in Crossfire would do.
