How to enable on board graphics.

I have an msi sli Krait edition + xfx 390 and I cant get my dvi cable to detect while plugged in to the mobo. How do I enable the motherboard graphic outputs so I can use the monitor

Im using that now for a 32 inch tv but im trying to get my monitor to work

The cable I have is too small for those ports

This is the cable I have (https://i.imgur.com/0tlWz6z.jpg). Its too small to plug in to the gpu.
Edit: I realise this is a vga cable. Can I get it too work while plugged into my mobo with my gpu still installed?

That's VGA you will need an adapter to use it with that monitor.

You need to upgrade your monitor for a DVI or HDMI, to take advantage of that great card.
