Hey,

I asked couple weeks ago something about cpus and now I got much better knowledge about that but now I'm interested in part with batteries.

I'm getting Lenovo Yoga 3 10" WiFi which comes with 8400mAh battery.
I can see reviews for Lenovo Yoga 3 8", and battery is apparently amazing with just over 16 hours of surfing on internet with wifi which is much higher then average battery on tablets similiar in price range 150-250$. Now even if it isnt true about "being amazing" I'm wondering something.

Both 8" and 10" comes in 1280x800 which is fine resolution by me in both cases. I'm aware of weak cpu for example and only 1gb ram but I need tablet for surfing, emails, social networks, youtube and other stream platforms which should be fine on this one.

Will 10" drain drastically more battery comparing to 8" with same 1280x800 resolution and other hardware ? I cant find exact benchmarks for 10" tablet so I would appreciate "theory" on this one.

Happy New Year !

If you are talking about the Yoga tablets, that is the Yaga 2 line. The Yaga 3 are the laptops with swivel screens.

As far as battery use in tablets, it depends on how they light the screen. In tablets/smartphones the main drain on the battery is the screen. Now if the 10" screen is brighter, or has more lighting elements, then it will eat more battery. By how much? As a guess, and probably the worse case would be 20% more, so if the 8" is at 16 hours of use, the 10" would be about 13 hours. Still pretty good. If the 10" screen is lit the exact same way but just spread out a bit more, the battery life should be the same.
