your processor is fairly equivalent to 3rd gen intel core i5s and if you are just doing daily work you wont need to upgrade but if you need for serious multitasking, multibrowsing, gaming, or video editing then you should prefer the i7, but first tell me what kinda work you do on your pc so i can recommend the proper cpu. such as a 3rd or 4th or 5th or 6th gen core i7 or the 5th gen core i7 extreme edition according to your needs.
